SUPPORT WORKERS
Our support workers work with people who need a different type of assistance; support workers may work with people with learning disabilities, assisting them with gaining confidence and integrating them into their local community.
The work is likely to involve a lot more social facilitation than usual care work, and requires extra training.
Alternatively, support workers may provide guidance for people receiving Supporting People funding.
Support provided may involve helping to people work out and keep to budgets, assistance and reassurance in accessing local community services, and helping them integrate with their local communities.
The support role would be supplemental to any caring role, and there is a greater emphasis on the 'doing with' rather than 'doing for'.
Please note that all applicants ust have experience of care work and have completed LDAF training
